Experience the beauty of fall in the Porcupine Mountains. When the leaves change, the Porcupine Mountains is where you want to be! Located on the shores of Lake Superior in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, the Porcupine Mountains are home to the largest tract of old-growth hardwood forests west of the Adirondacks.

Tahquamenon Falls State Park encompasses close to 50,000 acres stretching over 13 miles. Most of this is undeveloped woodland without roads, buildings or power lines. The centerpiece of the park, and the very reason for its existence, is the Tahquamenon River with its waterfalls.

The Saginaw Valley Rail Trail covers 9.55 miles of abandoned rail corridor in Saginaw County, stretching from St. Charles to Saginaw. It incorporates a number of natural features including: seven bridges over various rivers and creeks, The Shiawassee State Game Area and many wetland areas.

Experience a dazzling 110-acre display of annuals and perennials punctuated by distinctive bridges, towering pines, and delightful water features. A variety of tours are available to fit your needs and group size!

Mount Baldhead includes a 1 mile loop trail used for hiking, walking, and trail running. There are also steps that bring one to the summit where one can view Saugatuck and Douglas and Lake Michigan.

The old-growth pines and hardwoods of Hartwick Pines State Park create a delightful contrast in the fall. Miles of biking and hiking trails line the 9,700 acres of protected land, offering plenty of ways to be active and enjoy the stunning show of colors. The Mertz Grade Trail is rated as easy and ideal for family fall foliage outings.

With horseback, carriage, stagecoach, and hayrides to choose from, The Rockin' R is confident everybody will be able to fully enjoy the natural beauty of Northern Michigan.

Saginaw Valley Rail Trail is 9.2-mile trail is a great choice for your year around recreation. The Saginaw Valley Rail Trail always beautiful, but especially so in autumn when fall foliage is reaching peak colors.
