Blue Water Winery and Vineyard

About a decade ago, after studying with industry experts at
University of California (UC Davis) to gain the core knowledge of
commercial wine making, we left the busy life of software executives in
downtown Chicago and literally - "bought the farm". We planted a 20
acre vineyard near the shores of Lake Huron because it was near to the
customers and for the "lake effect". The vineyard is now eight years old,
very vigorous, and producing abundant high quality wine grapes -
Chardonnay, Cab Franc, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Gewürztraminer, Zweigelt,
Grüner Veltliner, and more. Oh..and we planted a hop field in 2012 -
very cool and very tall!

Featured on the PBS show “Under the Radar Michigan”, Blue Water
Winery and Vineyards offers a true old school winery experience. We
cleared the land, we planted the vines, we make the wine, we're winning
awards, and we are having a blast doing it. Come join us - we're just a
day trip away!
