What to See and Do in Region 4 -Grand Rapids Grand Haven and Holland Area

You can’t go wrong by heading east on Cannonsburg Road to Fallasburg or Townsend ark and maybe have a picnic amidst the colors next to a flowing stream and wooden, covered bridge. There are 11 miles of trails at Cannonsburg Ski area for hiking, biking and trail running.

Hemlock Crossing offers 239 acres of woods and wetlands along the Pigeon River. Over six miles of trails meander through bottomland and upland forest, old pine plantations and along the river. Trails connect to Pine Bend County Park on the west end of this property. A pedestrian bridge and numerous overlooks offer scenic views.

The Yoga Studio, Grand Rapids' first yoga establishment, was created in 1979 by Carolyn Heines as a vehicle for her teaching. Since then, the studio has outgrown several Grand Rapids locations, and is now located in the vibrant East Hill neighborhood at 955 Cherry SE.

A palette of color awaits you as you wind along the entrance to Holland's treasured island. Tour up into DeZwaan, the only authentic Dutch windmill operating in the United States, grinding locally-grown wheat into flour, which you can purchase in the gift shop. DeZwaan sports a new deck and a restored grinding system.

In response to consumer demand, the Robinette family opened the Apple Haus in 1973. The Apple Haus is home to the bakery, lunch counter & eating area, cider mill, home-grown fresh fruits in season and a variety of other tasty treats and gift boxes.

Hudsonville Pike 51 is owned by Steve Guikema and Ron Snider who are also co-owners of Hudsonville Winery. Pike 51 Brewery is the new on-site brewpub that is finally here. This has been a dream for many, many years. Steve and Ron talked about this back in the 1990’s while doing their own home-brewing.

The Holland Museum tells the story of Holland, Michigan, from its settlement by Dutch immigrants to today’s innovative, successful, and diverse community.
