Ryke’s Bakery has a rich history, starting in 1937 with the Ryke family. John Ryke and his wife, Henrietta, along with their family, built a legacy of quality baked goods, great customer service, and a love for the community.

Ryke’s is currently owned by Su Hwan Kim and his wife, Joung Suk. They have three children in the Mona Shores School system: Joshua, Esther, and Sara. Mr. Kim comes from strong family-owned bakeries in West Michigan. He and his family are members of the Madison Square Church in Grand Rapids.

Mr. Kim has great vision of expanding the Ryke’s brand to where you will be seeing it in neighboring cities. “When you have a great product like Ryke’s cookies, cakes, and savory soups and salads, why keep it all in Muskegon – we must branch out and share the experience with Michigan!”

Mr. Kim has a clear vision for Ryke’s. Keeping the traditions of the bakery and the quality that has made Ryke’s a household name in Muskegon since 1937. The food and the flavors add to that uniqueness as do the people; the Ryke’s family of employees put the icing on the cake, helping the local eatery to be “More than just a bakery.”
