Harrison, Michigan can't wait for spring to golf! Each year in February they dust off their golf clubs and invite visitors to play in this uproarious golf tournament on frozen Budd Lake in downtown Harrison. This fun event is played with tennis balls on a 9-hole course.

The Colors of Christmas is a drive-thru wonderland of lights and Christmas displays. Every night from 6:00pm to 11:00pm starting the day after Thanksgiving until January 1 - the Croton Township Campground will be open for you and your family to drive through or hike through "The Colors of Christmas" light displays.
Great family fun during the winter months! Groomed specifically for snow tubing, riders will speed down one of many thrilling 16 ft wide sculpted snow lanes as you drop 50-60 feet over a course of 500-600 feet. A magic carpet uphill conveyor lift transports riders to the top of the hill.

The I-500 is the biggest event in the Upper Peninsula and in the entire snowmobile-racing world. When drivers accelerate to speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour on the straightaways, your heart will race.

Pentwater’s Winterfest is the second and third weeks in February and includes a fishing tournament, the Snowman Scram 5K and opportunities to go cross-country skiing in the Pere Marquette State Forest.

Established in 1965, Kalkaska Winterfest is an annual celebration of wintertime activities and the true “up north” spirit. Each year, Kalkaska Winterfest hosts a slew of family-friendly attractions during the weekend-long event.

JANUARY 8TH, 2022
(TCSDR) was founded in 1999, operated by volunteers to promote, conduct and support mid-distance sled dog racing in the Midwestern United States and Canada. The race attracts mushers from all over the United States, as well as Canada, South Africa and New Zealand.
Come join us on a sleigh ride through the beautiful countryside of west Michigan. The sleigh trails wind through our third generation family farm which consists of agricultural fields and a beautiful forest that features rolling hills, deep ravines, river bottom and thick swamp.
From the beginning in 1957 Dorie and Nub Sarns knew that this hill in the great Michigan outdoors was going to be some place special. They cleared the trees and installed a double chairlift, and opened for business. In 1964 the slope "Crazy Otto" opened named after the groomer Otto Washburn.

Midland City Forest offers wonderful cross country skiing on groomed trails for classic and skate skiing. Trails are designed for skiiers of all levels, from beginner to an advanced 11k loop. A .7 mile beginner trail is lighted from dusk until 8 p.m. every evening. Routes and distances can be obtained by clicking on the map to the right.

The UP200 is one of the top 12-dog mid-distance races in the Midwest, as well as being an Iditarod qualifier. The UP200 trail covers 230 miles of challenging terrain from Marquette to Grand Marais, Michigan and back again through forested land and near-wilderness. Mushers face hills, creek crossings, deep snow, and isolated trail.
Enjoy a picturesque, winter tradition and hours of outdoor fun ice-skating at Kensington Metropark. The rink is located at the Orchard Picnic area near the picnic shelter, not far from the sledding hills! There is a small walkway mat from shelter to the rink. The rink is open when ice conditions permit.
