The City of Hancock, founded in the 1850's by early copper explorers, is a progressive and welcoming City of 4,600 residents on the North shore of Portage Lake, and is the northernmost City in Michigan.

Each summer ends with the Houghton County Fair in Hancock Michigan, the weekend before Labor Day weekend. It offers a great opportunity to come out and have a great time with friends and family with entertainment ranging from livestock shows, demolition and off road derby. Miss Houghton County Queen and youth talent show.

Sand Point Charters offers fishing charters and sightseeing tours in the most pristine lake within the Great Lakes Region. Lake Superior is the World’s largest fresh-water lake and is home of the Lake Trout that can only be found in cold Northern waters.
