What to See and Do in Region 4 -Grand Rapids Grand Haven and Holland Area

Allegan County, Michigan is situated among the rolling farmlands, grasslands, forests, lakes, and streams of the southwestern portion of the Lower Peninsula. Bittersweet Ski Resort in the scenic Kalamazoo River Valley is Southwest Michigan's premier ski area. Skier friendly, night skiing, complete snow making and grooming, huge lift capacity and friendly helpful staff to make your visit pleasurable. The Terrain Park will feature new obstacles this year and is served by its own chairlift.

Eighteen runs with the longest at 1800 ft., two Terrain Parks with one fo the little kids and one for the big kids, equipment, group rates, discounts and child care. Top-notch ski school and popular racing programs.

The historic courthouse square in downtown Charlotte holds the 1885 Renaissance Revival Eaton County Courthouse. On the National Register of Historic Places, the courthouse is now a museum, featuring the restored interior, circuit courtroom and offices.

You can’t go wrong by heading east on Cannonsburg Road to Fallasburg or Townsend ark and maybe have a picnic amidst the colors next to a flowing stream and wooden, covered bridge. There are 11 miles of trails at Cannonsburg Ski area for hiking, biking and trail running.

Hemlock Crossing offers 239 acres of woods and wetlands along the Pigeon River. Over six miles of trails meander through bottomland and upland forest, old pine plantations and along the river. Trails connect to Pine Bend County Park on the west end of this property. A pedestrian bridge and numerous overlooks offer scenic views.

The Yoga Studio, Grand Rapids' first yoga establishment, was created in 1979 by Carolyn Heines as a vehicle for her teaching. Since then, the studio has outgrown several Grand Rapids locations, and is now located in the vibrant East Hill neighborhood at 955 Cherry SE.

Located in a small farming community just 10 miles north of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, our micro brewery and taproom is striving to bring a world class experience to every person who walks through our doors.

A palette of color awaits you as you wind along the entrance to Holland's treasured island. Tour up into DeZwaan, the only authentic Dutch windmill operating in the United States, grinding locally-grown wheat into flour, which you can purchase in the gift shop. DeZwaan sports a new deck and a restored grinding system.
