Region 4 -Grand Rapids, Grand Haven and Holland Areas are part of western Michigan starting at the spectacular Lake Michigan beaches and traveling towards the heart of the lower peninsula. Destinations and Attractions include some up-and-coming micro breweries (Grand Rapids was named the Top 10 Vacation cities for Beer Lovers), festivals (Holland is the home of an annual Tulip Festival), attractions (Grand Haven Lighthouse), and an abundance of outdoor activities (including Dune Buggy Rides in Saugatuck) and boating, biking, hiking, swimming and outdoor recreation throughout the region.

What to See and Do in Region 4 Grand Rapids, Grand Haven and Holland Areas

For a great view of Big Red, visit Holland State Park, and walk along the boardwalk to the north pier (wheelchair accessible). Holland State Park is at the west end of Ottawa Beach Road on the northside of Holland. You can also view Big Red from Mt. Pisgah, where the dune stair case takes you 157 feet above sea level.

The 158-acre main campus may take up to two, four, or eight hours to walk through depending on what you choose to explore. With a large variety of art and plants, Meijer Gardens has something to pique any interest. Explore some of the many great highlights we have to offer. Meijer Gardens is open 362 days a year.

Our outdoor rental selection is the most extensive in the area, featuring boats, kayaks, bikes, and mopeds. Enjoy a scenic cruise down the Kalamazoo River and Kalamazoo Lake with one of our rental boats and/or kayaks. A great way to conveniently get around theSaugatuck/Douglas area is on one of our rental bikes or mopeds.

This is a 48-acre park with the beautiful sandy shore of Lake Michigan along the west side and the Grand River along the north side. The park consists entirely of beach sand and provides scenic views of Lake Michigan and the Grand Haven pier and lighthouse.

Visitors from all over the world come to see millions of tulips in parks, gardens and tulip lanes. The festival hosts 3 parades, music and variety shows, concerts, dinner theatre and over 1,100 authentically costumed Dutch dancers.
