Michigan Apple Festival - Sparta, Michigan

Each fall West Michigan gathers Riverside Park Grand Rapids for Octoboerfest! A festival the celebrates BEER, well not really. The celebration of Oktoberfest started in Bavaria (southern Germany) but has become loved all around the world as a celebration of good beer, good food, and warm camaraderie among friends.

The Country Mill orchard is the only mid-Michigan cider mill where a family can pick fresh apples, peaches, and blueberries at the same farm. We also offer our own locally grown vegetables such as sweet corn, winter squash, and pumpkins.

September and October

Each fall Cranes Orchard opens up with great activities for you and your family. The Crane Orchard corn maze is always top rated. Add in the cow train which is a great time for kids. Hint, hint - it’s a train of cows, and the kids love it! And nothing short of picking apples can be as fun as experiencing a tractor driven hayride with family.

Enjoy Hayrides at Fun Pumpkins, a pick-your-own pumpkin patch where 30 varieties of pumpkins grow. Pumpkins ready to be carved with faces for jack-o’-lanterns, stewed with spices, baked into pies, or stacked into decorative towers.

Abandoned Acres Farm is located on Fruit Ridge Ave only 10 minutes north of Grand Rapids, MI. The 100 year-old farm encompasses over 40 acres of rolling landscape including foreboding woods, surreal creeks, fruit orchards and more. Abandoned Acres Farm is a unique, immersive experience so prepare to be scared.

Open from May through October depending on the picking seasons. Ed Dunneback & Girls Farm Market have fruits and vegetables available in season, both already-picked or u-pick.

Western Michigan Fall Tradition - Passengers are entertained during the journey by THE GRAND PUMPKIN, SCARECROW & LITTLE CROW!

Each paid child's ticket includes a free, locally grown pumpkin the kids can pick from our Pumpkin Patch at the end of the ride.

Children under 2 yrs ride free and also get a Pumpkin.

Pumpkinfest in Zeeland - Celebrating community, family fun, and fall activities for over 30 years! Pumpkinfest is a two-day event that features a number of free and low-cost events that can be enjoyed by all ages. September 15-16, 2023

September is the official month that Michigan Apple Fest hosted in Sparta (just 10 minutes north of Grand Rapids)! It is a family oriented event celebrating the harvest of fresh fruits and vegetables grown on “the Ridge” near Sparta, Michigan, the heart of Apple country.

At Fruit Ridge Hayrides, we are happy to offer a variety of old fashion farm activities for you to enjoy with your friends and family. For year -round fun,try a horse drawn hayride or sleigh ride through our woods and orchard. Family reunions, school groups, church youth groups and corporate picnics are always welcome.

In response to consumer demand, the Robinette family opened the Apple Haus in 1973. The Apple Haus is home to the bakery, lunch counter & eating area, cider mill, home-grown fresh fruits in season and a variety of other tasty treats and gift boxes.

Mount Baldhead includes a 1 mile loop trail used for hiking, walking, and trail running. There are also steps that bring one to the summit where one can view Saugatuck and Douglas and Lake Michigan.
