Michigan Life's Region 1 is the southeastern corner of our state and home to our largest city: Detroit. From Detroit's Riverfront you can enjoy both the skyline of the city and of neighbors across the border in Windsor, Canada. Some of the most visited attractions include professional sports teams including the Detroit Lions Football, Comerica Park: Home of the Detroit Tigers Baseball, Travel to The Palace in Auburn Hills to see Professional Basketball with the Detroit Pistons and don't forget the NHL Hockey Team Detroit Red Wings there are also a number of historical attractions including The Henry Ford Museum, Motown Museum and the Detroit Institute of Arts. Families are never lacking family activities such as the Detroit Zoo, Detroit Institute of Arts. star gazing at the Michigan Science Center or a outing to the Detroit Riverfront or any of the Metro Parks.

A corn maze is a great experience for families, couples, church groups, school groups, birthday parties, senior groups, or anyone just looking to have fun! There will be corn cannons, pumpkins, huge slides, and concession stands! Don't miss it this year!

The Blast Corn Maze in Dexter Michigan has a 10 acre field of corn with 3 1/2 miles of trails. It has 3 exits – short, medium, and full maze to accommodate all corn maze enthusiasts. We have a Corn Maze Express map with marks that you will be able to purchase to help you through the maze.

Beware! This is not your average haunted house! The acres of Wiard's Orchards south of Ypsilanti Township, Michigan (near Ann Arbor, in Washtenaw County) are truly haunted. The history of these lands has lived in haunted houses of Michigan lore for centuries.

Maybury Farm 12 acre Corn Maze has been a HUGE HIT with folks of all ages! Take the hayride to and from the Corn Maze and stop by the barn to see all of the farm animals. Don't forget to get some cider or hot chocolate before you make it a day.

Thanksgiving Day!

America’s Thanksgiving Parade® presented by Art Van, one of the country’s oldest and most celebrated Parades, will step off at 9:00 a.m. on Woodward Avenue and Kirby and end at Woodward Avenue and Congress. Hundreds of thousands of parade-goers will be watching as the Parade makes its way down Woodward Avenue.

The Lightfest will be closed Monday and Tuesday evening.

The Wayne County Lightfest is magical four-mile stretch of Hines Park, displaying nearly 50 animated themed displays and more than 100,000 lights .

Wyandotte Michigan knows how to put on a holiday party. The Parade route begins at Northline near the Police/Court Building and ends at Eureka Avenue. The parade begins at 10 am and usually runs approximately one hour.

The Annual Northville Hometown Holiday is a festive community celebration that kicks off the holiday season. The season begins near middle November with the Holiday Lighted parade followed by the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree in Town Square.

February 2 - 4, 2024

The Plymouth Ice Festival will take place over three days and include ice carving competitions, food booths, and entertainment. Admission to the festival is free. Ice sculptures available for viewing 24-hours a day (weather permitting).

September 16 2023

Come and enjoy this free, safe and affordable event. There will be free parking and a free shuttle. We will have fireworks, a variety of food vendors, arts and crafts, free kiddie games, car show, beer tent, boxing demo, wrestling, petting zoo, monster trucks, bounce inflatables, magician, music, carnival rides, midway games and much more!

Third Weekend in September

Romulus Pumpkin Festival in Romulus, MI is a three day street festival on the third weekend in September. It starts with a night “parade of lights”. The annual Pumpkin Festival is a three-day event that begins with a night parade where everything is lighted from bicycles to cement trucks.

Kackleberry Farm is a seasonal agri-tourism adventure in Monroe, Michigan. We open during the Fall each year for old-fashioned family entertainment with corn maze, pumpkin patch, events and attractions that are fun for kids from ages 2 to 92!
